Manchester United facing potential mass exodus in the summer
There is no denying that there needs to be a huge amount of change at Manchester United, with a number of different things clearly not working for the iconic club at the moment.
Indeed, the Red Devils have had a fall from grace that will have hit every fan all over the world following the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, although many would not have imagined it would have been as big as it is.
The club has managed to bring in some talented managers in the past including the likes of Louis Van Gaal and Jose Mourinho, whilst there have been numerous top players to have arrived at Old Trafford and graced the pitch.
Nonetheless, the team has failed miserably and things look rather bleak at the club as of this moment. Indeed, they have become a rather difficult option to back when it comes down to placing a bet on the powerplay website, and their heavy 4-1 defeat to arch-rivals Manchester City on Sunday just further highlighted the gulf in quality that currently exists between the Premier League champions and a team that wants to be challenging for it.
Things need to get better and quickly, but it appears they could be about to get a whole load worse in the summer if they are unable to sort things out.
According to a report by The Sun, a total of 17 players could leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window, which would be devastating for the team.
Players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani and Jesse Lingard are all mentioned within the report, as is Juan Mata.
Marcus Rashford has put his future in doubt recently as it is alleged that he is considering his options after becoming disillusioned with life at the club due to a lack of first-team football and the lack of opportunities he is getting from the beginning of games.
Pogba and Cavani’s contracts expire in the summer, thus leaving them free to leave should they wish to, whilst Ronaldo is said to want to leave if the team does not qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
His relationship with the club appears to be rather strained at the moment, especially as he does not appear to get on with Ralf Rangnick as there were conflicting messages being relaid regarding his absence in the Manchester derby.
Mason Greenwood remains suspended pending judgment on criminal activity, but if he is found guilty, it would be likely that his professional career would be over before it ever truly began, whilst Anthony Martial will unlikely want to make a return after finally getting a move in January to Sevilla on loan.
Donny van de Beek is another player that may look to try and convert his temporary spell away from Old Trafford into a permanent move, but Everton’s struggles would perhaps be a little concerning at the moment.
Additionally, it is claimed that Diogo Dalot, Aaran Wan-Bissaka, Dean Henderson, Phil Jones, Brandon Williams, Andreas Pereira, Facundo Pellistri, and Tahith Chong all have doubts over their future at Manchester United, too.
With all of these players potentially leaving, there is a lot of work that needs to be done quickly, otherwise, things could be about to get very difficult.
