Rangnick demands more intensity from the players

Under the new German manager, Ralf Rangnick, Manchester United is currently on a four-game unbeaten run. But the ‘Godfather of Gegenpressing’ is not impressed with the players’ performances in these four matches. He explained that the team needs to improve in many areas, and it will undoubtedly take time to see the changes in the team. As the game improves, Man United betting odds will also increase.

The fans saw some slight glimpses of what Ralf can bring to this team in the first game. He used the 4-2-2-2 formation, and the team’s pace with and without the ball was more when we compare it with that of Ole’s United.

“Everybody has the chance to perform and present themselves,” Rangnick said recently. “I am happy to give game time to quite a few of them tomorrow, perfect opportunity to get to know the players.” From these words, what the United fans can expect is that he will give all the players chances before deciding to keep them or sell them. He will rotate the players and use them wisely whenever the game demands. The chances that he gave to the youngsters against Young Boys in the Champions League was an example. He added Bjorn Hardley, Charlie Wellens, Charlie Savage, Sam Mather, Zidane Iqbal, and Shola Shoretire to their Champions League squad. Charlie Savage, Zidane Iqbal and Shola Shoretire debuted for the first team against Young Boys.

After the match against Norwich City, Ralf was disappointed with the performance as the team needed a penalty to grab all three points. He said: “Norwich played in a very proactive and aggressive way, so it was a question of how do we deal with this kind of football. I wish we had more intensity upfront, more physically and more willingness to win the one-v-one duels. We could have done better in some parts. In some parts, it was good, like the whole defensive line, the six, including De Gea, were good.”

Fred will be the player who can improve a lot under the German manager. Under Ole, he looked like a lost person on the ground. But under the new manager, he scored the winner against Crystal Palace and had scintillating performances in all the other games.

United does not have challenging games in the coming weeks. In December, they face teams that are not so stronger. So, it is an excellent chance for the German to analyse and make a strong XI for the second half of the Premier League season and the Champions League.

As the game against Brentford is postponed due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19, Rangnick will now prepare for the match against Brighton this weekend.
