Man Utd lining up replacement for Harry Maguire

Perhaps Manchester United have been listening to Roy Keane, after all?

The former United skipper has made his feelings clear about the current crop of stars that are currently playing in the famous Red Devils jersey and has not minced his words about the current club captain, Harry Maguire.

Many will have always been rather sceptical about the former Leicester City man once he arrived at Old Trafford, but rather only for the huge £80 million that was required to sign him from the King Power Stadium back in 2019, smashing the world-record transfer fee for a defender.

Of course, when you see him in the defence, there will be many that will feel as unsure about United’s chances of winning a game as they are obtaining the best casino bonuses until they visit betting-sites.ca and actually get those that are on offer.

It would seem according to reports, that whilst Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still sees the defender as a crucial part of his Manchester United squad, the team could be looking to replace him shortly amid an array of disappointing results.

Of course, the 28-year-old was largely blamed for his mistakes against Leicester City and Liverpool, as well as defensive errors he made against Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League, whilst he was heavily criticised for his goal celebration against Albania by a certain Mr Keane.

A report by Todofichajes claims Manchester United are now looking at Sevilla’s Jules Kounde as a possible replacement and could be potentially ready to make a move in the January transfer window for him.

The 23-year-old has been identified to be the possible answer to helping solidify the defensive cracks that the Red Devils are currently experiencing, whilst he could also partner up with France international team-mate, Raphael Varane in the centre of defence after the latter’s move to the club in the summer.

Kounde – who is thought to have been close to completing his own Premier League switch last summer with a move to Chelsea – is currently under contract with Sevilla until 2024, but it seems the release clause could make any potential hardball negotiation something that the English side needn’t worry about.

It is understood that his release clause is £68m (€80m), and United are thought to be considering it.

Whether they do or not remains to be seen, but the team’s current form can not continue for much longer. If it does, then January defensive reinforcements are going to be needed and the 23-year-old Kounde could be an excellent choice.
