The Data Zone: In-form Atalanta extend unbeaten run with 1-1 win over Sassuolo

Atalanta enjoyed a great game in the Serie A and their eighth game in a row without defeat came away to Sassuolo. The game finished 1-1 (0-1).

Atalanta were left with a man down early on, when Pierluigi Gollini was set off in the 22nd minute.

The match was even in terms of goals until Atalanta took the lead in the 32nd minute through Robin Gosens, who scored a goal, with an assist by Ruslan Malinovskyi.

Straight after the break, Domenico Berardi made his mark and equalised for Sassuolo. This brought the final score to 1-1.

Sassuolo’s Marlon was sent off in the 75th minute.

Sassuolo have 4 wins and 1 draw with a 8–3 goal difference in the last 5 games, while Atalanta have 3 wins and 2 draws and a 11–4 goal difference.

With four games remaining, Sassuolo are in eighth place in the table while Atalanta are in second.

On Sunday, Sassuolo will host Genoa at 11:30 am and Atalanta will play against Parma at 2pm.
