Statistical Analysis: Madrid win hard-fought game against Granada

Real Madrid beat Granada away in the La Liga. Madrid had a 2-0 lead already by half time and ultimately won the game 4-1.

The visiting team Real Madrid took an early lead when Luka Modric scored a goal after 17 minutes, with an assist by Miguel Gutierrez, making it 1-0.

Straight after the break, Rodrygo made his mark and increased the team’s lead.

Jorge Molina reduced the score for Granada in the 71st minute. The goal was his seventh on target in the league this season. Granada were unable to score any more goals.

Alvaro Odriozola increased the lead in the 75th minute.

Just one minut later, it was Karim Benzema who scored a goal, thus ensuring that the team increased the lead again, making it 1-4. It was Benzema’s 22nd goal for the season. The 0-1 goal was the only one of the game.

The result means that Real Madrid have taken points in 16 straight games.

Granada have 1 win and and 4 losses with a 5–10 goal difference in the last 5 games, while Real Madrid have 3 wins and 2 draws and a 11–3 goal difference.

With two games remaining, Granada are in 10th place in the table while Real Madrid are in second.

Both teams play again on Sunday, as Granada host Alaves at Mendizorrotza and Madrid host Athletic Club.
