Villarreal beat visiting Levante on Sunday in the La Liga, winning 5-1 (2-1).
In the ninth minute, Villarreal took a 0-1 lead through an own-goal.
The team increased the lead to 0-2 early in the match when Gerard Moreno made his mark as he scored a goal, with an assist by Dani Parejo, in the 13th minute. The goal was his 20th on target in the league this season.
In the 21st minute Levante found the net as Mickael Malsa scored a goal, and reduced the score for Levante.
It took a long time before the next goal came. With barely 30 minutes on the clock, Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze scored a goal and increased their lead.
1-4 came in the 72nd minute after another own-goal from Levante.
Samuel Chukwueze increased the lead in the 75th minute. The 5-1 goal was the last one of the game.
Levante have 2 wins and and 3 losses with a 3–9 goal difference in the last 5 games, while Villarreal have 4 wins and and 1 loss and a 14–5 goal difference.
Levante are now in 10th place in the table, while Villarreal are fifth in the league.
On Wednesday, Levante will host Sevilla at 6pm and Villarreal will play against Alaves at 8pm.
