Home does it for Lazio and on Sunday they beat Genoa 4-3 (2-0) and made it 11 successive home wins in the Serie A.
There was no real shape to the match until Lazio took the lead just on the half-hour mark through Joaquin Correa, who scored a goal, making it 1-0.
The team increased the lead to 2-0 just before the half-time whistle as Ciro Immobile scored a goal.
2-1 came through an own-goal in the 47th minute.
Straight after the break, Luis Alberto made his mark and increased Lazio’s lead.
With more than 30 minutes on the clock, Lazio’s Joaquin Correa scored a goal, with an assist by Luis Alberto, and increased their lead.
Gianluca Scamacca reduced the score for Genoa, in the 80th minute.
Genoa pulled one back again in the 81st minute of the game when Eldor Shomurodov scored a goal, with an assist by Milan Badelj. But the team ran out of steam. This brought the final score to 4-3.
Lazio have 4 wins and and 1 loss with a 15–11 goal difference in the last 5 games, while Genoa have 1 win, 1 draw and 3 losses and a 9–11 goal difference.
The result brings no change for the teams in terms of league position: Lazio in sixth place and Genoa in 13th.
In the next round, Lazio take on Fiorentina away on Saturday. Genoa play at home to Sassuolo on Sunday.
