
Nice 1-4 PSG: Di Maria brace extends lead at top
Paris Saint-Germain extended their lead at the top of the French Ligue 1 with a 4-1 win at nine-man Nice on Friday night.
Angel Di Maria gave Thomas Tuchel’s side the lead after 15 minutes before scoring a sublime first-time lob six minutes later to double the defending champions’ lead.
Ignatius Ganago gave Nice hope midway through the second half following an error from Marquinhos. However, Wylan Cyprien was shown a second yellow card for the hosts on 74 minutes, and Christophe Herelle was dismissed three minutes later for violent conduct in the aftermath.
Kylian Mbappe and Mauro Icardi each scored in the final three minutes for PSG to extend their winning streak to three games domestically. They move five points above Nantes, who visit Metz on Saturday.
Paris Saint-Germain are back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Club Brugge in the Champions League. The French side have six points from their first two games.
