Man City 0-0 Huddersfield: Citizens lift title
Manchester City lifted the Premier League trophy at the Etihad on Saturday afternoon despite being held 0-0 at home by Huddersfield Town.
Pep Guardiola’s side dominated possession with 79% of the ball throughout the game but only forced two saves out of Huddersfield goalkeeper Jonas Lossl from their 15 efforts on goal.
This is only the third time this season in which the Citizen’s have been denied maximum points at the Etihad – drawing their opener 1-1 with Everton and losing 2-3 in the Manchester derby at the start of April.
The result means that the Terriers are one point from safety with a trip to Chelsea to come on Wednesday before finishing the season at home to Arsenal on Sunday.
Manchester City are now on 94 points after 36 games – one point behind Chelsea’s Premier League record set in 2004-05. The Citizens host Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday night before finishing the season at Southampton next Sunday.
Fans weren’t too disappointed by Saturday’s result as they were able to watch their players lift the Premier League title and celebrate after the game.
