Millwall 0-3 Fulham: Cottagers keep pressure on Cardiff
In-form Fulham produced a scintillating second half display at The Den on Friday night in a 3-0 thrashing of Millwall to keep their automatic promotion hopes alive.
Ryan Sessegnon (46′), Kevin McDonald (56′) and Aleksandar Mitrović (89′) all scored after the break in a game that Slaviša Jokanović’s side showed their promotion credentials.
The Cottagers have moved two points above Cardiff City into second place but have played two games more than the Welsh side who face Nottingham Forest at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday.
Millwall had headed into the game on an 18-game undefeated run in the Championship (W12, D5) themselves and up into sixth position. However, Friday night’s defeat leaves them only one point above Derby County who have two games in hand.
17-year-old Ryan Sessegnon took just 40 seconds after the restart to put the visitors ahead and they never looked back. Fulham doubled their lead through a screamer from Kevin McDonald just before the hour before Aleksandar Mitrović made the scoreline emphatic late on.
